We recently got our new library cards for this county and are all reading up a storm. The other night I came into the living room and all three of the older kids were on the couch engrossed in their own books – love it!
I recently read A Wife After God’s Own Heart by Elizabeth George. The thing I took away from this book was that family is the most important thing in the world. That once you are married it is no longer “my family” and “his family” but OURS. She said that you should call your in-laws mom and dad, so that is what I’ll be doing now. Okay, Marlene and Danny? George also thinks that it is up to the wife (since that is to whom she is writing) to form a tight relationship with extended family. I have failed miserably in this area and I’m so thankful for gracious people who love me with my shortcomings.
Another book was One Acre and Security by Bradford Angier. I really enjoyed this book. This author gave me a lot of ideas on how to earn an income on a small plot of land. He discussed everything from housing to livestock. I can’t wait to put some of these ideas to practice someday.
I have other books on the shelf that I’ll review once I finish them. I have a hard time remembering what I’ve read so I thought it would be good to do a little report on these books here.
As for Sammy’s potty training, he is doing great! Today he has taken himself to the potty chair whenever he felt the need and has not had any accidents. He is still trying to figure out #2, but I know he is really catching on. I can’t believe I’m only going to have one in diapers soon. I need to find our cloth diapers because I’m going to have Kaitlyn in those. Potty training Sammy has been so easy, I’m so very thankful.
