Yesterday we spent a good part of the day at Thanksgiving Point, since we bought a membership we might as well make good use of it. It was chilly, as in Bakersfield’s winter, but beautiful! The leaves are changing colors and the mountains surrounding us were capped with snow. The gardens were fairly empty except for workers planting bulbs for next spring. Rod rented a golf cart and we all piled on and hung on for dear life as he decided to see what that baby could do :). We worked on Christmas pictures of the kids (and can I say that it is pretty impossible to get five children all looking the same way and smiling at the same time, especially a certain young toddler) and Rod was ever patient of my frequent shouts of “stop” so that we could capture the kiddos in different settings. We spent several hours taking pictures, marvelling at all the various gardens and water areas and squealing as Daddy took us all over the place as quickly as possible; even in circles around the paths. Rod even let all of the kids have a turn driving. We had such a great time and I’m sure the children will remember how their Dad drove so fast and that they thought they would fall off or crash, ha ha.
