Pictures from our trip to Texas

Sunday – We drove to Colorado Springs and spent the night there.

Monday – Went to Focus on the Family and played at their kid’s area, we also bought some audio books.  Drove to somewhere outside Amarillo.

Tuesday – Made it to the Dallas area.  Spent time with family and the kids played with their two cats, two dogs, two goats, baby chicks and numerous chickens.  They loved it!

Wednesday – It rained all day so we hung out at the house and had a lovely time just being together.

Thursday – After lunch we drove to Big Spring to see Big Bo (Rod’s granddad) and stayed the night there.

Friday – Drove to Moab.

Saturday – Went to Arches National Park and then drove home.

Some observations:

Forty hours in the car over seven days is hard!

Hotels are expensive when they only allow four people to a room and therefore, requiring us to get two rooms each night.

Rod is the most patient man in the world, I’m not the most patient woman.

Texas is a LONG way from Utah.

Absence does make the heart grow fonder – I miss them.

East Texas is beautiful with so many trees.

Texas is the only state that puts their flag on everything or names so many of their businesses Texas. . .

I have never seen so many pickup trucks, cowboy hats and boots.

The people of Texas are incredibly polite and friendly.

You know you’ve received a compliment when a Texan says that your children are well-behaved.

Rod now thinks we should move to Texas, heehee.

I’m sure Texas has room for everyone! We really like it here and having ya’ll close by would be great. My chickens need the exercise. Ha. Right now, surgery is scheduled for 1-6-10. Danny says our insurance is changing the first of the year, so I don’t know what to think or worry about. I’m sure ObamaCare will take care of me. Si?

Timmy could use the exercise too. He is such a chicken wrangler! Thanks for keeping us updated about the surgery, we’ll be praying. Love you.

So, I googled Texas after posting my message, and I found that the first sites are about storm season. I may want to stay in the “shaking” state instead…lol!
