To my husband

Dear Rod,

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how much I appreciate you.  It amazes me how hard you work.  Rod, you get up before five most mornings and let your wife sleep.  You leave for work by 6:30 and spend the day dealing with impatient customers and a company that always expects more and more with rarely any praise.  Then you fight traffic to make your way home around 6:30.  Rod, as you know, when you walk through the door you are bombarded with children, some who think it is necessary to tackle you.  Right now, during the holidays, you are repeating this schedule six days a week.  Sometimes, you come home to a clean house and dinner waiting, but most of the time it is chaos.  Never do you complain.  You do not complain about being tired, overworked, stressed, hungry or anything else.  Rod you patiently listen to my whining and offer encouragement.

Thank you for working so hard for all of us.  Thank you for your servant’s heart.  Thank you for reading the Bible to us.  Thank you for spending precious time with us.  Thank you for playing with the children.  Thank you for helping me when I don’t feel well.  Thank you for the hugs and kisses you give to all of us.  Thank you for the encouragement you offer.  Thank you for being a man who desires to serve God with all he has.   Thank you for being such a good daddy and hubby.

Happy Birthday, Hot Rod!  I love you!
