I’m sorry I’ve neglected this blog so much. It is a lot easier to just do sentence updates on facebook than to sit here and type out a post. I know, I’m a naughty blogger. I’ve considered no longer keeping this going, but it is great to be able to look back and see what we have experienced over the last couple of years. This is a sort of online scrapbook for us, so for now I’ll continue. Here are some of the things that have been going on in our lives for the past couple of months.
*As you know we’ve been sick. Everyone seems to be doing a lot better now. Sammy still has a cough at times and Kaitlyn still has a runny nose, but I think it has more to do with allergies.
*We had to register our van last week. Utah requires a smog and safety test for all vehicles over a few years old. The van wouldn’t pass the safety test and we had to replace the tie rods, a tire and some other things. Six hundred dollars later, the van is now registered. Because of this and some other things that has come up our emergency fund is almost gone, and since we no longer have our credit cards to use…well the pressure is on.
*The people behind us have a pit bull and on Sunday it charged under the fence and almost attacked Kaitlyn. I was barbecuing at the time and I was able to scare the dog away with my screaming and trying to kill it with the BBQ tongs. We were all very frightened at the time, but now the kids have been joking about how the dog has probably never experienced a mom attack and that now it is going to be scared of tongs forever. 🙂
*Our house seems like it has a mind of its own. Yesterday the CO2 detectors went off and would not stop. We have two different detectors each on the separate levels of our home, so naturally I thought there was a gas leak. We spent the afternoon out of the house, waiting for the gas company to come check it out. Thankfully, our gas appliances are in great shape and he could not find a leak anywhere. Our garage door is also going crazy. It is opening and shutting multiple times one its own whenever we use it. Rod was late to work one morning because it wouldn’t stay shut. Ah, the joys of home ownership.
